As National Director of Prevention & Māori Partnerships, Superintendent Phil Taikato has oversight of 4 of the 5 drivers of Crime, in addition to Mental Health. With 24 years of policing service, Superintendent Taikato has worked in many roles from Detective to Station Commander, Area Commander and training Practice Leader at the Royal New Zealand Police College. Superintendent Taikato has been an ardent supporter of all that is Prevention Policing from the beginning of his policing career and believes that prevention is an integral part of policing.
