
Senior Sergeant Chris Tritton has 30 years of policing experience with 6 years in the NSW Police Force and 24 years in the QPS. Signs from an early career in Surveillance and Undercover provided insight into a skill for remembering faces. He has served as a Detective for over 10 years on the Gold Coast and then the last 12 years as a District Duty Officer managing major incidents as an incident commander.
In 2018 S/Sgt Tritton won the Courier Mail Scholarship which provided funds to travel and research Super-Recognisers who had been utilised in the London Met since 2011. As a result of his research in London and at the University of NSW he commenced a trial to identify the first Super-Recognisers in the Police Service ranks and with a team of 20 have identified over 1100 suspects and vulnerable people around the state. Senior Sergeant Tritton continues to research and expand the facial recognition capability of the QPS.
