Matt joined New Zealand Police in early 2022. He has had a diverse career, primarily in private enterprise, that has spanned product strategy, operational management, technology delivery, portfolio management and consultancy roles within the energy, transportation and banking sectors. In 2017 Matt moved to the public sector and soon after held the position of Deputy Chief Executive – Corporate Services at Oranga Tamariki. In this role he oversaw a programme of work to migrate and transform enabling services from the Ministry of Social Development to the new Ministry, including leading a cloud only technology transformation.
Since joining Police, Matt has been focused on defining what is required from Police’s technology solutions and functions in order to support New Zealand Police achieving it’s mission of preventing crime and harm through exceptional policing. This has including redefining the operating model for the technology function and establishing programmes of work to address core platform capability
