John Croker is the Managing Principal Solicitor responsible for Human Rights within Victoria Police. In that role he provides legal and strategic advice on all aspects of policing, with a view to lawful and proportionate policing that strengthens community trust and confidence in the organisation.
John has qualifications from the University of Oxford (Master of Philosophy in Law), the University of Melbourne (Master of Laws), and the Australian National University (Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Asia Pacific Studies specialising in Arabic). He has extensive experience working in human rights and government, and his recent research at the University of Oxford explored the emergence of AI use in government decision making and the protection of human rights.
