James has extensive experience in general management, business development, change management, corporate and client relations, and the training and development of staff within a variety of industries. He is a strategic thinker who accelerates execution within budget constraints to achieve board objectives.
Before moving to Australia and then New Zealand, he served as a commissioned officer in the British Army where he worked closely with police, emergency services, the Home Office and the British media during various domestic disaster relief operations. A highlight included leading multi-disciplinary teams during post 9/11 joint Counter Terrorism operations with the London Metropolitan Police.
He is a proud father of 3 daughters who have inherited his love of the sea and horses. James’ family hails from the UK and Fiji, he was educated in Tokyo, Sydney, Auckland and the UK, he is an alumnus of Auckland University, graduated in the top 3rd of his intake from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2000 and commissioned into the Life Guards.
