Guy joined the New South Wales Police Force in August 1994 and performed roles in General Duties, Proactive Crime Teams, Licensing and Detectives at a number of Metropolitan Sydney and Regional NSW Commands. In 2003, Guy obtained his Detectives designation whilst working in Bathurst in regional NSW before returning to Sydney where he led the Proactive Crime Team and Drug Team on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
In 2013, Guy was promoted to Detective Sergeant at Northern Beaches Command where he remained for a period performing a number of development roles including Crime Manager and Duty Officer.
In 2019, Guy transferred to Eastern Suburbs PAC before being promoted to Inspector at the much-respected Mt Druitt Command where he performed the tactical Duty Officer role combined with the Human Resources portfolio.
In November 2021, Guy relocated into the Commander role of the North West Metropolitan – Region Enforcement Squad. There Guy has created and led SF Sweetenham. A Strikeforce stood up to prevent, disrupt and respond to the unacceptable number of homes being broken into for the purpose of stealing luxury and performance motor vehicles. Cars that are then sold to Organised Crime Networks (OCN) and used in homicides, Kidnapping and Public place shootings.
In the last 5 months, Guy has been relieving as the Operations Manager, North West Metropolitan Region. A region that is a collection of Police Area’s Commands, each characterised by vastly different and uniquely challenging geographic, social and criminal issues servicing more than 1.2 million people.
