Detective Senior Sergeant Danny Gillan joined South Australia Police in 1990 and became a detective in 1999. Danny has worked metropolitan detective postings and specialist branches, with a focus on drug, violent and organised crime. Danny was seconded to the Australian Crime Commission, investigating and leading nationally significant organised crime investigations including the Viking Joint Task Force. He was promoted to Detective Senior Sergeant in 2010 before being posted as the Officer in Charge of the Covert Investigation Section and returning to the Serious and Organised Crime Branch. Danny was the Investigation Manager for the resolution of Operation Coy.
