Detective Inspector Kylie Lawson commenced with the Australian Federal Police in 1999 and has spent the past 25 years in forward facing policing roles, largely investigating crimes against victims of crime. Prior to joining the AFP, Kylie was a social worker in Sydney and Canberra working across client, advocacy, and policy work. Kylie is committed to improving the experiences of victim-survivors who navigate the criminal justice system which starts with frontline police. Kylie worked with other stakeholders on the Sexual Assault Police Review for the past two years and is committed to implementing the review’s recommendations in the ACT. Outside of work, Kylie is a keen listener of true crime and psychology-based podcasts while cooking the family dinner or walking the dog.
