Brendan Gilmour leads on International Engagement and Strategic Partnerships on behalf of the UK Chief Scientific Adviser to Policing. A former Scotland Yard Detective, Brendan has extensive expertise in covert operations and investigations, with a focus on counter-terrorism, serious organised crime, and police corruption. His career has included prominent national roles with the UK National Crime Squad, SOCA, and the Scotland Yard Counter Terrorism Policing Command. In the final five years of his service, he was seconded to the Home Office Science Directorate where, as a Detective Chief Superintendent, he led the Police Adviser Team, driving advancements in science and technology to enhance the capabilities of UK policing. Currently, he plays a key role in cultivating strategic partnerships on behalf of the Chief Scientific Adviser, including the development of a global research and innovation network with policing partners worldwide.
