Howard Kemp is the Acting Inspector (manager) of Queensland Police Service’s (QPS) Recruiting Unit. He has been in the QPS for almost 40 years. After a number of years in the operational environment, he has predominantly worked in the areas of police training and leadership development. In a challenging labour market, organisations, including the QPS, have need to explore a range of strategies to increase the recruiting pipeline, without lowering the standard. An integral part of this is collating and reviewing evidence to make sure that informed decisions are made and evaluated to improve service delivery.
